2024 T20 World Cup Host Selection
In November 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup would be held in the United States and the West Indies.
After two years of preparation, the West Indies Cricket Board and the United States Cricket Association jointly bid, becoming part of a strategic partnership between the two boards.
One-third of the 55 matches in this edition will be held in the United States. As one of the host countries, the United States team automatically qualifies for participation.
This marks their debut in top-tier global competitions and holds promise for a stellar performance from the emerging U.S. cricket scene.

2024 T20 World Cup Format
T20 cricket follows a 20-over format. It’s the quickest and most popular format, with each match completed in just 3 hours.
In the group stage, 20 preliminary teams will be divided into four groups, each comprising five teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8s.
The Super 8s will consist of two groups, each with four teams; the top two teams from each group will proceed to the knockout stage.
The knockout stage includes two semi-final matches and one final match.
